Painting Fashion

A collection that was inspired by my art and my painting process. I transformed the way I paint into fashion design, hence, creating a collection that is "painted" without brushes or paint but with multi-divers textiles and layers by using various cutting and adding techniques.
With regards to content the guiding themes of my paintings also shaped the collection: femininity, gender roles, dual identities of people of color. In order to conceptually apply the ambiguity associated with these topics key elements and fashion archetypes of haute couture of the 1950s and classic men´s suits were merged.
